The core purpose of Global Communications Internship is to help support the company’s growth by bringing to life communication milestones that support the company’s strategic priorities. In order to communicate effectively the company uses a variety of internal and external communication channels and strategies. As Global Communication intern you would help support this important effort by helping manage the communications agenda as well as provide valuable input and support in the continued evolution of the company’s (digital) communications landscape.  

This role sits in the Global Corporate Government Affairs team (three people). You would report into the Global Communications Director, with your weekly tasks being overseen by the communications manager(s). The internship is based in Amsterdam and available as of February 2022 possible for the duration of 5-6 months. It is possible to partly work from home in alignment with your team. 

Responsibilities 

  • Change communication & adoption specialist for the Global Digital Transformation project, designed to further simplify our internal communication and collaboration landscape in 2022 (if your study requires a research project, this could be it) 
  • Support with execution of the 2022 internal and external communications calendar through our key communication channels (Workplace, MS Teams, LinkedIn, Global Press release system) 
  • Copy writing and content creation for internal and external communication milestones (written announcements, videos scripts, social media posts, email announcements etc). 
  • Support with internal company events (online and offline) 
  • Day to day management of key communications tools and processes 
  • Corporate website content management and optimization  
  • And there’s probably a lot more that will come to you along the way!

To be successful in this role you need to be enrolled at a University for the whole duration of the internship and this needs to be a mandatory part of your study curriculum. Please note that if you are a non-EU citizen you need to be enrolled at a Dutch University to be considered as a candidate. 

For this role we’re looking for someone with the following skillset: 

  • You are enrolled in a Bachelor or Master Communications (or related) study  
  • Hands-on and flexible 
  • Ability to prioritize and to work in a structured way on projects and individually 
  • Ability to switch tasks easily and can excel under high pressure/tight deadlines  
  • Business proficiency in English: written and spoken (other languages are a bonus not a must) 
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills 
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail 
  • Highly proficient in PowerPoint, Word, Excel (Photoshop is a bonus) 
  • Website content management system (CSM) experience is a bonus 

Additional Information

The monthly internship allowance is € 450,- for a HBO student or € 500,- for a WO student, based on a fulltime 40 hour workweek. We also provide additional support if daily travelling to work is required. Please do keep in mind that we do not offer relocation and/or accommodation benefits for students coming from abroad. The internship starts at the beginning of February 2022, and is for a period of 5-6 months.
