Finance Controller - GBD

Job Description

The successful incumbent will prepare and provide analysis of financial management information which supports the decision-making process of the department based in Utrecht Netherlands.

Finance Controller cooperates with the Finance Manager in executing her/his responsibilities concerning the organization’s accounting policies and the communication of these policies throughout the organization. Also has responsibilities in reviewing financial reports, managing external relationships and financial controlling related global / regional projects.

  • Prepares, provides and analyses financial management information which supports the decision making process of the department
  • Supports Finance Manager with internal control process, financial reports and accounting statements 
  • Period end close activities, post journal entries and reconcile accounts 
  • Control over reconciliations for all entities and ensuring these are valid, accurate and complete
  • Responsible for preparation of other finance recons, trade spend, A&P, W&D and SG&A analysis
  • Controls consolidated GBD SG&A tracking and forecasting process, providing market analysis on key drivers, risks and opportunities

  • Work very closely with distributors on open book policy  (AR Management)
  • Continuous development of processes and internal efficiency improvement projects
  • Preparation of Actual Financial Statements, ensures accuracy and compliance
  • Responsible for the sites financial statements and audits.  This will involve assisting with collating and explanation of information, answering audit queries, liaising with the individuals at the sites and preparation of the financial statements with the associated tax calculations
  • Responsible for the internal & external audit process, collation and explanation of information, answering audit questions, liaising with the individuals at the sites
  • Creating awareness in all controlling areas towards organization to be complied with company policies
  • FI-COPA Recon and Top-down Distribution for all GBD entities
  • BPC Schedules Submission (Actuals) for all GBD entities
  • AR & Overdue Management / Credit Control Coordinator
  • WBS Creation
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining the internal control framework in country specific case (Internal Control / GRC / CBM Compliance / Aico Account Reconciliation Coordinator)

For this role as a Finance Controller GBD, we’re looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:

Must have:

  • 3+ years in financial role (preferably a controller)
  • Excellent business acumen and ability to manage a P&L
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • Ability to manage a changing workload in a dynamic deadline-driven changing environment
  • Willing to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
  • Willing to travel when necessary  

An Advantage:

  • Part-Qualified Accountancy (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience from working in FMCG is a strong merit
  • Experience from SAP is an advantage 
  • International Experience
